Playing With Fire by Ashley Piscitelli

What to do when there has never been love…… experience 1st
I was pleased and honored to be given the ARC of “Playing with Fire” and I was in not disappointed. I will try not to give to many spoilers since it is being released today but, WOW!!!! Madison was a victim of all types of abuse and no one showed her love. This changed when she trampled over Carter and felt sparks that was foreign to her.

Carter was a man on a mission and with some well taken advice he stole my heart with showing Madison the TRUE meaning of love and having a family for support. I was a hand made family but a family none the less. Regardless of the obstacles in their way, Madison experienced many 1st with Carter. This alone is what drew me all the way in. It was not about sex but about knowing you are loved and can be loved and have self worth. Understanding the people in the world are not all assholes and abusive like her dad, foster parents, and boyfriend Chris.

I was a jealous soul when I was at Duke University with these characters and was ready to protect Madison and steal her gifts at the same time.Ashley ROCKED this book and left me in the WTH moment at the end. I saw RED and was ready to finish what was started. I can not wait for book 2 and 3 for that matter. This book is a MUST read…….

Since the heroine experienced many 1st, I asked the author to share hers………

Date? My first date was when I was 14. I used to spend my summers down the shore with my grandparents. I met this boy on the beach and he asked me out for pizza. I was so nervous that I had my best friend casually bump into us on the boardwalk. She spent the rest of the night with us.

Club experience? I was 19 and went with one of my best friends to an 18 to party 21 to drink club. It is definitely not as fun to go to a club when you are not 21, we danced and had fun. I never really went many more times until I turned 21 and could get the full experience.

Alcoholic Beverage? My first alcoholic beverage was at a fraternity party in college. I was dating one of the guys in the fraternity and he had asked me to come.

Boyfriend? My first real boyfriend was in sophomore year of high school. He was really nice but like most relationships in high school it only lasted about a month.

Best Friend? My first best friend was actually in freshman year of high school. It was actually two girls we had all met the first day of high school and were best friends all four years.

Crush? My first crush was Justin Timberlake, and I am not ashamed to admit that his wedding day was a sad day for me.

Movie ever watched with friends? Hmmmm…I am trying to remember this one and it is not coming to me. I do have a story that is funny though. In high school my friends and I had a sleep over and had rented a scary movie that was out at the time called Boogeyman. By the end we were all freaked out, and all of a sudden heard this banging outside my door. We of course all now believed it was the Boogeyman. In all reality it was my mom and when she walked in she saw us all huddled in the corner on top of each other.

Meal on a date? This was pizza, which is definitely not a good date food. I remember being embarrassed because I kept having to wipe all of the pizza sauce off my face.

Cellphone? My first cell phone was in high school, it was one of those Nokia’s, and it was gold. My friends and I were actually just talking about this the other day. I used to play snake constantly on it and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Holiday you cooked the entire meal? My first Holiday I cooked the whole meal was the first Christmas when my husband and I had gotten our house. My sister-in-law and I had made a deal on which holidays we would cook for. She took Thanksgiving, because I refuse to clean out the turkey, and Christmas Eve. I chose to cook for Christmas and Easter. I love being able to cook big meals and have every over.
